Well, the first week of school is finally over. It actually went by a little too quickly, but it was sort of fun. BF comes over every morning at 7:15 for breakfast, leaves by a little after 8 for class – Monday and Friday comes back and works on homework until I get home, Tuesday-Thursday heads straight to work and I pick him up on my way home. Nice routine, no?
The above pizza used Bob’s Red Mill GF pizza crust mix, cooked on a pizza stone, topped with pepperoni over ranch on one half and mushrooms, roasted garlic and caramelized red onions over marinara on the other half. To be perfectly honest, I am less than pleased with the crust. I’ve been hearing all kinds of great things about it for months, and sure it tastes fine, but for $5/crust, I expect a little more bang for my buck. The crust comes out thick and spongy, more like whole-grain bread than a pizza crust. After one slice, I’m so full (and bloated- yuck!) from the crust, I have absolutely no desire for a second piece. Sad, right? Needless to say, we will be exploring other options in the future… My pesonal favorite so far is ‘Cause You’re Special’s pizza crust mix which is easy, delicious and not too thick- – unfortunately, it’s a little harder to come by, and just as expensive. Yikes.
